‘Introducing Mindfulness’ Course

This course is developed by the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation and aims at offering a brief taste of mindfulness practice and theory. Participants will learn in a group setting with a particular theme each week followed by home practice that consolidates their learning. By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

• understand the nature of attention and how it shapes our experiences;
• navigate different ways of being and knowing so as to help us flourish;
• differentiate reacting and responding for making more skilful choices in everyday life.

The course will be delivered by an Educational Psychologist from Jockey Club “Peace and Awareness” Mindfulness Culture in Schools Initiative (JC PandA). Certificate will be issued to students having full attendance. All HKU students are welcome. Priority will be given to students from the Faculty of Social Sciences.
