Description To help teenagers with autism find employment, Heep Hong Society has produced “The Autistic Youth Pre-job Training Project – Self-learning CD-ROM”, which throws light on job-related problems often encountered by autistic people, such as interview skills, workplace demeanor, problem-solving skills, and financial management. Depicting how autistic people react in certain scenarios and sharing coping strategies offered by professionals, the CD-ROM is set to gird autistic youth up for employment. Sharing from parents, employers and autistic peers was also included to provide viewers with a wider perspective on autistic people. Under the Autistic Youth Pre-job Training Project, Heep Hong Society, in collaboration with MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong) Ltd., also published a booklet entitled “A Job Opportunity for Autistic Youth” to highlight the traits and qualities of autistic people especially their capability on working in order to let employers have a better understanding of their strengths. Description With an aim to provide children of different abilities with the chances to paint for pleasure, painting classes were organised by the Jockey Club Parents Resource Centre of Heep Hong in 1998 for those children, whose artworks were subsequently compiled into a book entitled Rainbow in Heart: Children’s Paintings, signifying that through painting, those children shared with us their colours of life. Throughout the book, readers could experience the vitality and creativity of children injected into their water-colour paintings, pastel drawing, colour-pencil drawings, Chinese ink paintings, and finger paintings.

簡介 體育是主流學校的主修科目,透過運動,學童能夠鍛鍊身體,改善身心健康。體育課亦提供機會予學童和同儕交流和合作,從中培養團隊精神。然而大部分高功能自閉症學童在體育科均遇到動作協調與組織問題,以及社交溝通與情緒控制困難,以致未能享受運動樂趣,也較難跟上主流體育課的進度。協康會物理治療師團隊編寫本書,協助老師及家長了解小一至小三高功能自閉症學童的體能特性,精選百多個專業及實用的體育練習,幫助學童掌握基礎能力,以及徑賽項目、拋擲、跳躍、球類等運動技巧,更針對學童稍遜的社交技巧,在練習中加入溝通和情緒管理等訓練元素,全面提升學童參與體育課的能力,幫助他們融入主流教育。各個練習詳細列明練習目的和所需技巧,以圖片展示訓練步驟和視覺安排,並採用日用品作訓練材料,讓老師及家長能輕鬆在學校和家中為學童提供有系統的訓練。隨書附有DVD光碟,收錄練習短片供參考。

In an attempt to provide parents with useful guides to helping their children integrate into mainstream schools, Heep Hong Society’s social worker team have, based on 15 case studies, published this parent manual, which expounds on challenges faced by students with SEN and their parents, and suggests feasible measures to support children with special needs so that they could enjoy and benefit from their school life to the fullest. The manual was sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant.
