Welcome to join WHO-CST parents group!

The localised World Health Organization – Caregiver Skills Training (WHO-CST) is the first caregiver training programme in Hong Kong specifically designed for caregivers of children aged 2-6 who are suspected to have or diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays or disabilities. The content of the course is developed by WHO, in collaboration with Autism Speaks, and localized by The University of Hong Kong and several non-governmental organisations to cater for the needs of local parents.

The main purpose of the WHO-CST programme is to facilitate you to become a more effective caregiver with more capacity and skills. You will be able to learn effective parenting skills, thus having more enjoyable moments with your children. There will be more positive, joyful and meaningful interactions between you and your children. When your children exhibit challenging behaviours, you will have the useful skills to effectively respond to these behaviours. It is expected that children will demonstrate more adaptive behaviours and fewer challenging behaviours.  Your emotional well-being and quality of life will surely be improved.

  1. Assisting children in initiating communication with others
  2. Enhancing adaptive behaviours in children
  3. Preventing and reducing inappropriate behaviours in children
  4. Helping caregivers prioritise their own physical and mental well-being
