Cluster Leader: Professor Yuyu Zhou
Our research cluster is devoted to understanding the complex interactions between demographic trends and development, particularly in the context of rapid urbanisation and climate change. Our mission is to conduct innovative research that explores various aspects of demographic trends and development, and investigates their implications for sustainable urbanissation and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and leveraging the expertise of our diverse team of researchers, we aim to contribute to the development of science-based policies and strategies related to population and development, which effectively address the environmental and social challenges in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Areas, and worldwide. Our ultimate goal is to promote sustainable development in both urban and rural areas, for the benefit of present and future generations of the population.
