Human library creates a platform where a human book sits down with a small group of readers from diverse backgrounds. They embark on a journey through an equal, respectful, and open-minded conversation free of prejudice.

The Programme
The Music Band x Human Library is a creative programme designed to promote communication across language boundaries. Between December 2018 and May 2019, two youth bands and one indie Hong Kong Chinese band reflected on their journey as a band in a series of workshops. They shared their dreams, knowledge and insights with each other regardless of culture, language and other backgrounds.

Making of documentary
This documentary follows the different stages of the human library programme – from band members getting to know each other, to sharing their own compositions and preparing for the public event. It showcases how common interest, music in this case, brings people of different backgrounds together and makes inter-ethnic communication possible. (click to view the video)
Ethnic Minorities – Enrich, Express, Empower by Music
Grace and Patrick are the two main characters in this video. Grace, the bassist of Radeyo, was born and raised in Hong Kong. Patrick, the drummer of Now We Talking, came to Hong Kong from Nepal at the age of eight. They talked about their personal stories as non-Chinese youths and their pursuit of career in Hong Kong. Godfrey, the drummer of Radeyo, shared his views about social inclusion from the perspective of a Hong Kong Chinese young man. (click to view the video)

On 2nd June, 2019, an event was held at the Fringe Club with the participation of over 80 members from the public, as well as families and friends of the band members. The first part of the event was a music performance by both of the bands. Then, the audience and the band members met each other in small groups. They shared their journeys of music and their lived experiences as both youths and musicians in Hong Kong. (click to view the Programme Leaflet)

「真人圖書館」是一個溝通平台，讓真人圖書與來自不同背景的讀者，近距離地、以互相尊重、排除偏見的態度，進行真誠的溝通。
活動
「Band仔真人圖書館」是一個充滿創意的活動，鼓勵參與者跨越語言隔膜，以開放的態度坦誠溝通。由2018年12月至2019年5月，兩隊年輕樂隊和一隊本地華裔獨立樂隊，參與了一系列工作坊，分享大家在組織樂隊方面的經驗、故事和反思。他們擺脫了文化和語言的差異，真摯地交流知識和心得、分享彼此的夢想。

EM活出音樂新天地
Grace和Patrick是這套影片的主角。Grace是Radeyo的低音結他手，她是土生土長的香港青年，Patrick是Now We Talking的鼓手，八歲時從尼泊爾來香港定居。兩位年輕音樂人訴說身為非華裔年輕人的個人經歷，以及追求事業理想的決心。Godfrey是Radeyo的鼓手，他從與非華裔樂隊成員相處的經驗中，分享他對社會共融和多元文化的見解。(按此查看影片)
2019年6月2日，主辦單位在中環藝穗會舉行公開活動，公眾、樂隊成員的家人和朋友共80人出席。首先是音樂演出，兩隊年輕樂隊——Now We Talking和Radeyo——演奏樂隊的創作和精心挑選的歌曲；然後是「真人圖書館」時間，樂隊成員與現場觀眾分成若干小組，分享他們作為年輕人、音樂人的生活體驗。
