WHO-CST Parents Reunion Workshop

Parents with autistic children often face various challenges in their caregiving journey, which can lead to physical and mental exhaustion. Many parents have enrolled in the localised “World Health Organisation Caregiver Skills Training Programme” to learn effective methods of interacting and facilitating communication with their children. As the participating parents share a similar background, they are able to learn from and support each other during the programme, thus building an emotional bond with each other.

To facilitate a reunion for the parents who have attended the WHO-CST programme, Faculty of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong and TWGHs Ho Yuk Ching Educational Psychology Service Centre jointly organised the “WHO-CST Parents Reunion Workshop” on April 22, 2024, at TWGHs Kitty Woo Music and Art Development Centre. The event encouraged parents to take care of themselves while looking after their children through floral arrangement and mindfulness activities.
