To enhance the problem-solving and flexibility skills of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), JC A-Connect, in collaboration with TWGHs Ho Yuk Ching Educational Psychology Service Centre, has designed and launched “Bus Routaflex” Board Game. The “Promoting Students’ Social Problem-Solving Skills Launch cum Seminar” was organised together with the Faculty of Social Sciences, The University of Hong Kong, on June 21, 2024.
The event was officiated by the Guests of Honour, Mrs. Gloria Li, Principal Education Officer of the Special Education Division, Education Bureau. We are honoured to invite Dr. Hung Ching Ngar, Vanessa, Specialist in Developmental-Behavioural Paediatrics, and Ms. Lo Ting Yan, Diane, Educational Psychologist from TWGHs Ho Yuk Ching Educational Psychology Service Centre, who shared evidence-based intervention approaches for students with ASD and the experiences in using the board game for social skills training. Teachers and social workers from Carmel Alison Lam Primary School and TWGHs Lui Yun Choy Memorial College also shared their school-based implementation experiences.
Over 200 primary and secondary school teachers, professionals from the education sector and non-governmental organisations attended the event. Participants were able to collect the storybook and board game on-site. The educational materials will also be distributed to all local primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.
