2023 Autism Awareness Month Art Jamming Event

To echo the 2023 Autism Awareness Month, an Art Jamming Event was held at Jao Tsung-I Academy on April 16, 2023 to unleash creativities and potentials of children with ASD. Mr. Simon Ma, artist and Chairman of DC Charity Foundation and Mr. Tommy Fan, Faculty Secretary of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong joined the launch ceremony. The guests led 30 families with autistic children to give full play to their creativity and realise their potentials by painting the Drago Cavallo sculptures and set a Guinness World Record with the “Drago Cavallo – Travel around the World” tour.

After the art jamming activity, there was an interactive game for the children to exchange flash cards with peers from other families and win prizes. Children with ASD were encouraged to communicate with others in order to improve their social skills.

These unique Drago Cavallo sculptures were part of the “Drago Cavallo World Tour Exhibition in Hong Kong”. By way of the exhibition, we wish to foster understanding and acceptance of ASD, and to build an inclusive society.
