The International Center for China Development Studies (ICCDS) is an institution to promote international collaborative research and training on the broad issues of China 's rapid development in the current era of globalization.
Established in June 2002, ICCDS is jointly set up by three renowned institutions from HKU, MIT and Chinese Academy of Science. The Center's aims are to function as a truly multi-disciplinary and international institution and network for academic research, training and consultancy on China development and globalization issues; to undertake high-impact and high-quality collaborative research and consultant work for international development agencies, the Chinese government, and MNCs; and to organize high-profile international conferences, networking and training programs among the participating institutions, particularly in conjunction with the MA in China Development Studies Program in HKU.
The main research themes include globalization and economic Growth; cooperation and integration; WTO Accession and Competitiveness (corporate, institution, and urban center); urbanization and urban and regional transformation; environment and infrastructure development; and public policy and social development. |
