Centre on Behavioral Health 行為健康教研中心

 

Centre on Behavioral Health, was set up as a sub-division of the Faculty of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong at the beginning of year 2002. In a space of a few months, the Centre has built a multi-disciplinary team of over 10 full-time staff and 50 honorary clinical associates and research fellows. The background of these staff includes social work, psychology, psychiatry, nursing, Chinese medicine, pastoral care, biomedical engineering, O&G and immunology.

Behavioral Health is an integration of interdisciplinary theory, research and practice in order to reduce the symptoms of illness, to promote healing and to achieve optimal health. It enhances the interactions of body, mind, spirit and behavior. The Centre's vision is to provide a holistic approach for the promotion and betterment of mental, emotional and behavioral welfare of the community, as well as aspiring towards achieving international recognition in the field of behavioral health.

By combining Eastern and Western health philosophies, principles and practices, the Centre is a place where the community could find the highest standard of psychological and behavioral empirical research, professional education programmes and clinical services.
