You are the Spring of Family Happiness (幸福家庭 全賴有您)

Family wellness is more than an abstract concept, but the real experience in our daily life. To heighten community awareness on family wellness, while offering families a day of fun, the Family Well-Being Expo will be held on 19 August 2018 as the prelude of the Asian Family Summit.

With the theme of “You are the Spring of Family Happiness”, the Family Well-Being Expo will be open to the public, providing an opportunity for integration of families with multi-generations, ethnic origins and ability/disability to participate in interactive activities and acquire information and knowledge on family well-being in terms of family health, happiness and harmony.

A series of interactive activities thematic workshops and attractive performances will be conducted to convey the message of family wellness in various aspects of daily life, covering clothing (惜衣), food & nutrition (足食), living & environment (安居) and travelling & leisure (樂行).

How can families prepare appropriate clothing for their members?
Many families spend money on trendy clothing. Every year, many clothes in good conditions or even new clothes are put away. Clothing is for protecting our body. Massive garbage is created by unnecessary material waste.

Food & Nutrition (足食)
How can families prepare healthy diet for their members?
Unhealthy eating is a common problem affecting people’s health, resulting in different body concerns such as obesity. This can be caused by frequent eating out habits. Encouraging home-cooking is not only for good nutrition but also to enhance family relationship. Preparation of healthy and inexpensive meals for family may secure good health for everyone.

Living & Environment (安居)
How can families become comfortable shelters for their members?
Many people have exhausted their energy in money-earning just for the purpose of buying a place to live. However, lots of stress are induced, adversely affecting the whole family. A simple and comfortable home would be good enough for members to stay, with strengths reserved for family time and relationship building.

Travelling & Leisure (樂行)
How can families enjoy leisure without requiring travelling faraway?
There are many scenic places in the local community where families may explore and enjoy. Family outdoor activities are not simply for good health, but also good opportunities for members communicating and experiencing together, which is to be reinforced.

The Family Well-Being Expo will be free of charge and all are welcome.

We are honoured to have Mr. Bernard Chan, GBS, The Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and other celebrity guests, to be present in the Expo to share their experience and insights on building family well-being.
