The Family of Dr S.C. Fan, former Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, has generously donated over two million dollars in 2003 to contribute to the Social Science Endowment Fund.

In memory of Dr S.C. Fan, the donation is used to support an annual S.C. Fan Memorial Lecture to be delivered by internationally pronounced scholars or experts in social science and related disciplines. The interest generated from the donation may also be used to support educational, research and community activities of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

社會科學學院前院長范叔欽博士家人於二零零三年，慷慨捐款逾二百萬港元予社會科學捐贈基金。為推動范叔欽博士的理念，此捐款用作資助每年舉辦之「范叔欽紀念講座」，由國際知名學者專家發表演講，以促進本港各界對相關議題的對話及討論，其利息收入可用作社會科學學院的教育、研究及社區活動之經費。
