Erica Chen

Crisis Prevention Officer, PathFinders Limited

Erica Graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Sociology in 2020. Before officially joining PathFinders, Erica joined PathFinders as a social work intern through the Global Citizenship programme in the summer of 2019 and stayed engaged with the Migrant Domestic Worker community since then. One of her main duties was to support caseworkers in providing direct assistance to migrant mothers and their children.

After completing her internship and bachelor studies, Erica pursued a Master of Philosophy degree at the Department of Sociology, HKU while continuing to support education workshops and ambassador programmes at PathFinders. Upon completion of her MPhil studies, Erica officially joined PathFinders in November 2022 as part of the crisis prevention team. As a Crisis Prevention Officer, her duty is to manage the Train the Trainer Ambassador Programme to educate and empower migrant domestic workers in terms of their maternity rights and protections.

Kelly Kong

Kelly is born visually impaired with a rare genetic disorder Retinitis Pigmentosa. She also had long years of battles with depression and general anxiety disorder. She exceled her internship in Sri Lanka and exchange in Sweden, as well as has pursued a fruitful career in social innovation. At this chat session, Kelly will share her experience navigating through workplace as a disabled person and ways to empower oneself at work.

Stephanie Wong

Stephanie studied Bachelor of Social Sciences with a double major in Politics and Public Administration and Psychology. She entered MTR Corporation as a Graduate Associate in the Corporate Affairs & Branding Division and gained a wide array of PR and corporate communications experiences in political and community stakeholder engagement, media liaison, event planning, crisis management etc.

Stephanie is currently the Marketing & Growth Manager at Carbon Wallet, a social innovation start-up incubated by MTR, which rewards Hong Kong people for taking green actions as a one-stop green lifestyle rewards platform on its mobile app. Her scope includes brand building, growth hacking, social media marketing, and delivering marketing campaigns and partnerships with sustainable brands to co-create a green ecosystem.

Jeanie Wong

After graduating in HKU with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (major in Psychology & Counselling), Jeanie pursued a career in the exciting social enterprise field. She joined Fair Employment Agency (FEA), an ethical recruitment agency focusing on eradicating unethical business practices for the hiring of foreign domestic workers in Hong Kong. With her previous background in psychology, Jeanie supported FEA to improve their matching systems between employers and helpers. In 2019, Jeanie was promoted to Client Care Manager to better support employers and workers for post-deployment issues including facilitating mediation in employment disputes, supporting workers for their medical or legal issues during their employment.

FEA is also a Community Partner of the SIGC programme. During her time in FEA, Jeanie was fortunate to have the experience to supervise HKU interns.

Jeanie is currently studying for a Master of Social Work (MSW) in HKU.

Tiffany Lam

Tiffany is a current year 4 UG student majoring in Psychology. She completed her SI internship at Vision Youth Leadership Development Centre, Canada, an organisation that aims to enable youth to fulfil their full leadership potential by supporting them with a variety of opportunities including mentorship, coaching, skills development, networking and resources. She completed this internship during Summer of 2023.

Boey Lam

Boey is a Year 3 Social Sciences student. During the last summer semester, he served as an intern at End Poverty for GC@Home, and he is currently working at UNICEF for a term-time SI internship. Having the opportunities to gain first-hand practical experience from the SIGC internships has enhanced his understanding of social issues as he has worked with both local and non-local Community Partners.
