Social Sciences are all about humans and societies. HKU Social Sciences strives to inspire curiosity and equip students to tackle day-to-day issues around us. For example, you can learn about the development of cities’ infrastructure through Geography; international relations and how the political systems work through Politics and Public Administration; human minds, behaviours and cognition through Psychology, social issues and the development strategies of social policies through Social Work and Social Administration; cultural identity in different communities under globalisation through Sociology; and the evolution of new media and technologies through Journalism and Media Studies.
We offer different enrichment programmes to secondary school students, allowing students to have a taste of Social Sciences and make informed decisions for their university studies:
