Faculty Student Ambassadors Scheme

The Faculty highly appreciates students’ active participation and involvement in events/activities organised throughout the year. We value students’ different talents and the Faculty Student Ambassadors Scheme (FSA) recruits a group of cheerful, playful, dedicated and passionate Student Ambassadors to engage with different Faculty activities. We understand that you may feel a bit hesitant to join, but just don’t worry, we have different activities and there would be some suit you BEST! And the list shown below is definitely NOT exhaustive!

What are the Roles?

The FSA is not only a perfect platform to showcase your leadership skills and talents, but also a nice way to befriend with newcomers and also to enrich your university life. Throughout the year, you can actively participate the faculty activities and events in various roles, such as:

  • Faculty Student Adviser
  • Admissions and promotion activities
    (admissions talks, school talks, video production, etc.)
  • First Year Experience activities
  • Internship-related activities
  • Major/Minor Week
  • Student helpers in HKU Information Day,
    Student Prize Presentation Ceremony, Congregation
  • Buddy mentor for Incoming Exchange Programme
  • And many more !

The Faculty Student Advisers give guidance and insiders’ tips to new undergraduate students and help them adjust to campus life. Shortlisted Faculty Student Advisers will attend training organised by Academic Advising Office (AAO), and be paired with freshmen. To better assist newcomers in adapting to the environment, Faculty Student Advisers shall meet their advisees when the academic year starts, and keep connected with them throughout the year.

Who is Eligible?

Full-time Faculty of Social Sciences undergraduate students (Year 2 or above). Students with advanced standing are also most welcome to apply!
