Mr He Yafei (何亞非司長)

Mr He Yafei is Director-General, Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. Mr. He has served the PRC government for 25 years after graduating from the Beijing Foreign Languages Institute in 1980. He also studied at the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneve in 1986. He served in the Chinese Embassy in the United States from 1998 to 2002, first as the Minister-Counselor and then as Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission.

Mr. He is in charge of diplomatic contacts and concrete matters related to foreign affairs in the region of North America and Oceania and the countries in the region. He also co-ordinates concrete policies on bilateral contacts and guides Chinese embassies and consulates in diplomatic work; and keeps abreast of and studies the circumstances and situations in the region.

何亞非先生現為中華人民共和國外交部北美大洋洲司司長。他服務中國政府超過二十五年,於1998至2002期間,先後曾任中國駐美國大使館公使銜參贊及公使。他現時的主要職能包括掌握、研究北美、大洋洲地區和國家的情況和形勢;負責與這一地區、國家外交往來及相關涉外事務的具體事宜;協調同這一地區國家雙邊往來的具體政策;指導中國駐本地區使領館的外交業務工作。
