Advanced Standing Application (2026-27 academic year)

ELIGIBILITY
For GCE A-level and IB Non-JUPAS applicants ONLY.
Applicants with GCE A-Level or IB Diploma qualifications and at least seven years of secondary education at the time of being admitted to the University will be granted 30 credits^ of Advanced Standing subject to their examination results attained:

GCE A-Level: 2A*1A or above in best three subjects, excluding English language and Chinese language subjects.
IB Diploma: an IB score of 36 out of 45 or higher.

To be eligible for Advanced Standing, you are required to submit school reports or relevant documents certifying from your school to indicate your SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF SEVEN YEARS OF SECONDARY EDUCATION in the academic year 2025-26 together WITH the IB / A-level results. Elementary and primary school education does not count toward secondary education. Should students fail to submit the documents by the stipulated deadline, the offer of Advanced Standing will be withdrawn accordingly.

^These are made up of 12 credits of unspecified electives, and 18 UG5 credits (Chinese Language Enhancement course, and twelve credits of the Common Core).

IMPORTANT
Please note that all students with sufficient supporting documents submitted on or before August 14, 2026 will be receiving their result around late October. Those submitted the documents from August 15- September 11, 2026 will be notified the result around mid-November.

Please note that the advanced standing is only granted toward Year 1 students(2026-27 intake) only. If students choose to not apply for the advanced standing or have missed the deadline, they MUST take the courses like other students.
