L.C.K. Yung Global Studies Summer Fellowship in Hong Kong
Summer 2025 (June 9 – August 1, 2025)


The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong is pleased to invite applications for the 2025 L.C.K. Yung Global Studies Summer Fellowship in Hong Kong. This is an inter-institutional and interdisciplinary research programme between the Hong Kong Jockey Club University of Chicago Academic Complex | The University of Chicago Francis and Rose Yuen Campus in Hong Kong and the Faculty of Social Sciences, HKU.

Students will work directly on faculty-led projects to explore topics in the following areas: politics, language, global finance, migration, health and well-being, and technology. Administrative and research support will be provided in the form of mentoring, as well as methodological training at the UChicago’s campus in Hong Kong.

In order to facilitate your research work and to show our support, a financial stipend shall be granted to the accepted FOSS students upon successful completion of the programme.

To apply, students will need to submit a cover letter along with the names of three references and their contact information. The cover letter needs to specify which project they would like to serve on, their research interests, as well as any methodological skills and language skills they bring to the project.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in:
1) Year 2 and above in the Faculty of Social Sciences, HKU, and;
2) BASc, BPsych, BJ, BSocSc, BSocSc(Govt&Laws)&LLB and BSW programmes

**Remarks:
The shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews in February 2025, and the successful applicants will be notified by March 2025.
