Ms Elsa Lam<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Senior Lecturer
Director of Experiential Learning<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Elsa Lam began her career as a journalist in Hong Kong and later devoted herself for more than a decade to poverty alleviation in China and Vietnam with World Vision, where she was Head of Operations Department and Sponsorship Director at different times. Before joining HKU, she brought her expertise in monitoring and evaluation in the social development programme to the private forestry sector where she specialised in social compliance, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement issues.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Elsa received a degree in Journalism and Communication from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, an LLM in Law in Development from the University of Warwick as a British Chevening Scholar and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University as a Mason Fellow. Her research interests focus on ethical community engagement and leadership.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Dr. Olivia Wang<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Lecturer (Research and Study Exchange)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Olivia is a dedicated researcher and educator with experience in social innovation, international development, and higher education. She has held research positions at AVPN in Singapore and UNESCO in Paris, where she collaborated with diverse social investors and impact organizations to create and disseminate insights on innovative practices of non-state actors contributing to the UN SDGs.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Olivia holds a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Hong Kong, a M.S.Ed. in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.Eng. (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Her research focuses on the learning processes of social innovation and entrepreneurship education, student agency, and university-community engagement. Her work has been published in journals, including the Journal of Social Entrepreneurship, Studies in Higher Education, and the Journal of Professional Capital and Community<\/i>. Olivia is passionate about fostering meaningful connections between academia and practice to drive positive social change.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ms Joyce Fung<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Assistant Lecturer<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Joyce Fung holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences and a Master of Philosophy from The University of Hong Kong. After graduating, she gained diverse experiences as a management trainee, research assistant, and teaching assistant. Joyce is also the co-founder of Free Periods Hong Kong, a registered charity dedicated to addressing period poverty. Her passion for menstrual education and combating period poverty originated from her Sociology final-year capstone project at HKU. Additionally, Joyce has worked for a Hong Kong-based NGO that promotes equality and empowerment for women of diverse races, where she spearheaded a micro-funding community programme.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

During her time as a teaching assistant and research assistant at HKU, Joyce contributed to delivering and administering Common Core courses, developing learning management systems, creating knowledge exchange materials, and assisting in research on holistic competency and experiential learning. Her interests encompass sexuality and gender education, inclusivity for individuals with diverse abilities, and facilitating community mutual-support practices.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
