Placement-based Internships
Offer students the off-campus work-integrated learning opportunities locally and abroad as interns at various kinds of organisations, including NGOs, social enterprises, think-tanks, startups, business corporations and etc. for a variety of posts and topics ranging from education and communication to research and community services.
Offered in term-time (spreading across two semesters) and summer semester (for two months), can fulfill the Social Innovation Internships requirement (Course code: FOSS2018).
Only offered in summer, can fulfill either the Social Innovation Internships (Course code: FOSS2018) or the Global Citizenship Internships (Course code: FOSS2019) requirement. Over the past summers, students had placement opportunities in Australia, Cambodia, Canada, China, Germany, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.
Offered in term-time and summer semester, can fulfill either the Social Innovation Internships requirement (Course code: FOSS2018) or the Global Citizenship Internships (Course code: FOSS2019) requirement. The Global Citizenship@Home (GC@Home) internships creates a new pathway for students to achieve global learning with internships placement in Hong Kong.
Project-based Internships
Offer students specialised project-based internships that tailor for your unique learning experience. It covers a range of theme-based projects such as Community-engaged Research, Social Innovator, Service Learning in China, GloCal Projects and so on. You can always check the upcoming and past opportunities at Internship Week.
This research internships experience provides opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience on selected research projects with Community Partners under the guidance of Faculty Members. Students will work along with the Community Partner and learn from their expertise to address real problems confronting society.
Social Innovator offers both local and non-local opportunities for students to learn the entrepreneurial process and to create out-of-the-box solutions with first-hand experience working in innovative social enterprises, interacting with change makers and understand how the system works for social enterprises.

SLC provides flexibility allowing Social Sciences students to gain additional cross-border learning opportunity for another endorsed 6-credit course in configuring Global Citizenship requirement, such as transferring credits from exchange programmes.
GLoCal Projects provide project-based/cross-disciplinary learning opportunities to work with international NGOs and/or local community partners addressing global issues with local engagement, including human trafficking in Nepal, fair trade issues in Sri Lanka and Indonesia, qualitied education issues in the rural Vietnam, and etc.
