Wo Hop Shek Kiu Tau Road Columbarium (Phase V) and Garden of Remembrance
The Wo Hop Shek Kiu Tau Road Columbarium (Phase V) is a public columbarium with over 43 000 public niches  (Indoor : 35310 niches and Outdoor: 8,400 niches) as well as a Garden of Remembrance (GoR) located at Wo Hop Shek Cemetery.  It was opened in 2012 and is under the management of the Food and Environment & Hygiene Department (FEHD) of the HKSAR Government.  The columbarium was built on a piece of land in the cemetery with an area of 3.6 hectares and is 5-storey tall.  From the photo gallery, you can see the beauty and serenity of the columbarium which won the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Medal of the Year (Hong Kong) award 2012.  There is a Western-style GoR and a Chinese-style GoR in the West Wing and East Wing of the columbarium respectively. Members of the public can apply to FEHD for scattering cremated ashes in these GoRs.  The GoR in the West Wing has a Western design concept and is decorated with stone animal sculptures and thematic plaque walls creating an artistic atmosphere while the GoR in the East Wing is designed with a Chinese concept, comprising three tiers, carrying different themes with different Chinese plantings: bamboo, plum and willow.

Palliative Care in Residential Care Homes for the Elderly: Kam Tin Residence for Senior Citizens, The Salvation Army
As a Christian organisation, The Salvation Army offers holistic care to the body, mind and spirit of our service recipients.  It is now operating over 80 social services units and carrying out more than 20 community projects in Hong Kong and Macau, helping people in need of different sectors.  Their services to the elders include residences, district elderly community centres, neighborhood elderly centres, day care centres, integrated home care service, carer service, palliative care and innovative community projects.

The Palliative Care in Residential Care Homes for the Elderly is a ground-breaking project in collaboration with Hong Kong Association of Gerontology for initiating a change in the practice of end-of-life care for those with known terminal diseases in residential care homes. Through providing one-stop end-of-life education, training and psychological support to staff of residential care homes, residents and their family members, it aims at achieving holistic care for participating residents by home care teams until their end stage at the homes.
