It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the HKU-USC-IPPA Conference on Public Policy to be held on 10-11 June 2016. The Conference is co-sponsored by the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Hong Kong, Sol Price School of Public Policy of University of Southern California and International Public Policy Association. The 2-day Conference will bring together local and international academics, experts and researchers in the field of Public Policy.
The theme of the Conference is “Coping with Policy Complexity in the Globalized World”. Globalization has reshaped the landscape for public policy and brought new challenges, policy actions taken locally can have repercussions of a global scale. Policy problems in the globalized world are extremely complex under ambiguous boundaries and jurisdictions. The effects are not only at the global but also regional, national and subnational levels.
The Conference aims to address different dimensions of policy complexity and its impact on public policy, reflecting the diverse efforts and experiences of different societies in coping with the challenges bought about by globalization. Through international collaboration, we hope to address the issues and advocate discussion from the perspective of East-West Comparison.
The Steering Committee looks forward to welcoming and meeting you in Hong Kong.
With best wishes,
