Guidelines for Submissions

1. Authors must indicate one of the following nine themes that best describes the content of their submission. Suggested sub-themes are outlined but not exclusive.

  • Best Practice of Social-medical Care Model: Multidisciplinary Collaboration in End-of-Life Care
    • Strategies for seamless transitions between different healthcare setting
    • Future role of primary health care setting
    • Care coordination: role of social worker and nurse in End-of-life care
  • Transforming Care Practices: Capacity Building
  • End-of-Life Care in Diverse Population
    • Dementia
    • People with rare diseases
    • People with disabilities
  • Innovations and Technologies in End-of-Life Care
  • Research and Evidence-based Practice
  • End-of-Life Care Development in Greater Bay Area / Mainland China

2. The abstracts should contain the following:

  • Abstract title (less than 25 words)
  • Authors’ name and affiliations
  • Abstract body

– Research presentation: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusion (less than 300 words)
– Practice presentation: Background, Objectives, Practices, Implications (less than 300 words)

3. There should be no tables, diagrams or pictures in the abstracts.

4. Authors must submit their abstracts online through the submission link provided in the conference website.

5. Please indicate the preferred type (oral or poster) and the nature of content (research or practice) of presentation.

6. Authors can submit at most two abstracts as first author.

7. Presenting authors must be registered participants.

8. Abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English, and with a quality of language suitable for publication

Selection for Abstracts

  1. Reviewers, as recommended by the members of the Organising Committee, will review the submitted abstracts.
  2. Two reviewers will review an abstract.
  3. The Organising Committee will have the final authority over the acceptance of the submitted abstract, its type of Presentation, as well as the theme it should fall under.
  4. Selection Criteria:

    Rigor in research design (30%)

    Clarity of Presentation (10%)
    Practice Presentations
    Relevance to end-of-life care (20%)

    Generalizability of the practice (30%)
    Implications of practices (20%)
    Clarity of Presentation (10%)
  5. Selection for Best Paper Presentation:
    The top 4 abstracts in research and practice respectively, selected by the Organising Committee, will be invited to join the best paper of practice and best paper of research presentations.
