Reciprocal arrangements will be made for exchange-in students who participate in University or Faculty level exchange programmes. Except for the 3 Campus Comparative East Asian Studies Programme, all applications shall be made via the University Central System. |

Important Notes
Exchange/Visiting Students should select 50% or more of the core courses offered by the Faculty, which are those with the prefixes GEOG, POLI, PSYC, SINO, SOCI, SOWK and JMSC. For some elective courses offered by other Faculties, students may seek approval upon their arrival at HKU during the course selection period/ add-drop period. Students are required to register courses via the online course selection system at their HKU Portal accounts. |

Arriving at HKU – Registration Procedures (exchange/visiting students) |
Step 1 |
For exchange students Go to the Global Affair Office (Global Lounge, G/F, Fong Shu Chuen Amenities Centre) to obtain registration package during office hours (Mondays to Fridays 9:00 – 17:30) |

For visiting students Go to the Faculty Office (11/F, Faculty of Social Sciences, The Jockey Club Tower, Centennial Campus) to obtain the registration folder during office hours (Mondays to Fridays 09:00 - 13:00, 14:00 - 18:00). You are required to bring along your passport with valid student visa, if necessary, for identity verification. Also, please submit the completed “Photograph Submission for Student Registration Card” in hard copy together with your photo for student card and a copy of student visa to the Faculty Office OR follow the instructions in the HKU Portal to upload the required documents in softcopy. |
Step 2 |
Access a computer to activate your HKU Portal and complete the master registration. You are required to register courses at your HKU Portal account during the online course selection period [i.e. from January 16 (10:00) to February 2 (16:00), 2017]

Step 3 |
Your student card will only be ready for collection seven days after submission of all required documents, including the completed “Photograph Submission for Student Registration Card”, a student visa copy and a photo. You will receive email notification when your student card is ready for collection. Remember to bring along with your passport for identity verification. Details for collection of the student card are as follows:

In order to let you know more about life in HKU and Hong Kong, an orientation will be organised by the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) cum the Global Affair Office (GAO) and the Faculty Office respectively for non-local students with details below: |

The course selection period is from January 16 (10:00) to February 2 (16:00), 2017. Please visit the Faculty website and check your HKU email account (each student will be given a HKU email account after registration) regularly for any latest events/notices from the Faculty. |
