Social Sciences Forum - We want to hear from you

Dear Social Sciences students

This summer has seen considerable unrest and division within the community of Hong Kong. Many young people have been deeply involved, and we know that includes many students. If these events happened during term, we would be able to discuss them with you in various ways, inside and out of classes, in cafes, and elsewhere on campus. Because it is summer, it is much more challenging for us to engage in conversation about these events and how they are impacting you.

Therefore, we would like to invite you to a forum at 7pm on July 17 (Wednesday) in Social Sciences Function Room, 11/F, Jockey Club Tower, Centennial Campus to meet with staff from the Faculty of Social Sciences. The aim of the forum is "We Want to Hear from You" — that is, we want to understand your concerns and anxieties about these events and the current climate in Hong Kong. We also want to give you the opportunity to tell us about your wellbeing and the stresses that you may be feeling. We note that we are part of a diverse community and everyone needs to have their voice heard and their concerns understood.

Please come and share your thoughts with us. I look forward to seeing you there.

Best wishes

Will Hayward
