Since June 2012, the Faculty of Social Sciences has launched a project entitled Service Leadership Internship (SLI) with the support from the HKI-SLAM, Victor and William Fung Foundation, which provides funding to the delivery of service leadership training in all eight tertiary institutions in Hong Kong.

The SLI takes place in the summer, where student interns work as a team (groups of 3 – 5) at one of our community partners to initiate, develop and implement (a) service task(s). By making use of their social sciences and multi-disciplinary knowledge, student interns contribute as shared leaders to help the organisations generate innovative solutions to authentic problems.

The Service Leadership Internship (SLI) has four major objectives:

1) To strengthen the students’ sense of social responsibilities in leadership
2) To help the students acquire the personal competencies in leadership

      c. Positive influence on others
