Dr Nicholas Thomas

Dr Thomas is a Research Assistant Professor in the Centre of Asian Studies, University of Hong Kong, where he coordinates the China-ASEAN project. He obtained a BA (Joint 1st Class Hons: Chinese Studies and Government) from the University of Queensland and a PhD (Government) from the University of Tasmania.

Prior to joining the University of Hong Kong Nicholas worked at the University of New South Wales and the University of Tasmania. His research interests include the study of East Asian regionalism, Non-traditional security issues, and Chinese foreign policy.

He has published four books on these topics as well as a wide range of articles and chapters.His most recent publication (co-edited with Melissa Curley) is Advancing East Asian Regionalism. (2006).
