The International Symposium on Applied Neuroscience and Neuropsychology (ISANN) is organized by the Laboratory of Neuropsychology, Faculty of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong and Caritas Hong Kong - Services for the Elderly. ISANN has provided a valuable platform for scientists and health professionals to gather and exchange knowledge on neuroscience and the neural underpinnings of our brain functions.

In our past symposia, we have appreciated the social and socio-affective aspect of our brain through lectures by renowned speakers from around the world. Following the success of these events, this year’s symposium would explore on our aging brain with the honorable presence of renowned local and international speakers including Professor Cheryl Grady from Canada, Professor Dr. Emrah Duzel from Germany, Professor Linda Clare from the United Kingdom and Professor Glenn Smith from the USA.

Ageing population is booming around the world and dementia is one of the most common cognitive disorders that lead to disability among elderly. Our speakers would give lectures and workshops on topics including prevention, assessments, neuropsychological rehabilitation and neuroimaging in relation to dementia and aging brain. We would also hope to engage and benefit the local elderly community through the public lecture and collaboration with local elderly service provider.

We would like to extend to you our sincerest invitation to attend this year’s symposium. Your presence will make this event a great success.
