The basic principles of evidence-based practice are that all practice decisions (e.g., formulating objectives and strategies) made should be based on not only clinical experience, client values and preferences but also research evidence. Evidence-based practice is advocated in a background that there are many practices being \u201cinnovated\u201d every day and many of them, however, seem to be re-inventing the wheel. It is important to collect scientific evidence about \u201cwhat really works\u201d. The credibility of research evidence is reviewed and interpreted before being taken into account in practice decisions. Outcomes of practices are evaluated with proper scientific methods and reported for collective wisdom of best practices.<\/p>\n
